BACK TO SCHOOL 2021

FREEBIES, NEW PRODUCT and BIG SALE!!

Hi All - I have new FREEBIES and new product hot off the press. There is going to be a HUGE TPT Sale August 3rd and 4th. Use the Code BTS21 and you will receive 25% off ALL products including sale items! I have new toys to share too! I now have a section just for seasonal items. Please check out all my Back to School items!! I am also working on the Ultimate Early Language Kit to build language. It will be a step-by-step sequence to decide what to work on first.

I love toys sooo much!! I just can’t seem to stop buying toys especially when they are on sale! I find the best prices when Amazon drastically reduces the price because the box is slightly damaged. I have gotten some great deals lately! When I decide to fully retire SLP’s are going to have a field day with all the products I have!! I joined the Speech therapy Materials Resell Group SLP on Facebook to start selling products for older students. As much as I loved my HS job, I’m not sure I will be working with that population again. We shall see! Anyway below are some of my favorite new & a few older toys!

Peekaboo Learning Farm

Sorting Neighborhood Set

Counting Surprise Party

Flower Spinners - DIY

The price was right - had to have all 3 of the toys above! Great for toddlers and preschool. The element of surprise is intriguing and exciting. They can guess what’s inside - you can give hints - great inference activity and increasing phrase length. All 3 toys are great random reinforcements for an language activity in which student gets to manipulate the toy . I like to get at least 3 responses before they get to choose a box. Early language skills with Peekaboo Farm and Sorting Houses- spatial concepts on, in, out, off, front, back, next to, labeling, action words, mine - put a barn next to each house. Match the colors. Developing language - following directions putting animals in a color box or a person in a house ,e.g. blue mom in the yellow house, spatial concepts. I have been using a color spinner (see flower spinners above) and dice. Student matches the color on the spinner. To add one more direction roll a die - student gets to take that many items . Counting surprise party - there are 10 boxes which have the number on them. Counting to 10 and naming colors s a great way to assess co-articulation. I have also used this set for story telling - student rolls the die 3 times, gets to open the boxes and then tell a story. Pop up pirate and Greedy Granny are still favorites too. Turn-taking is part of every session - my turn your turn. Instead of telling a child to say a word or phrase, I will say , “It’s your turn”

ABC Cookies

Tic Tac Tony

Put a stick in the playdough to track responses

The ABC Cookies are just a fun way to spell names and work on phonological awareness. I also observe student’s ability to sing the ABC’s. They do not have to know letters - it is actually a rote activity. Again it’s an awesome way to observe co-articulation. I often start a session with the Name Song (sung to Bingo.) I printed up letter cards for all the letters (some were missing.) If you decide to purchase this set I am happy to share the cards I printed. Tic Tac Tony is from Walmart - the tail flips the chip!! My students just love this game! It’s a simplified version of Connect 4 with a twist. The green playdough ball with the sticks is something I often used with my Green Screen - when you use a green screen the color green disappears - I have to watch what colors I use! The green playdough ball is invisible because it’s green so kids could only see the sticks. My elementary school kids were fascinated and didn’t know how I was performing this trick! They asked for this repeatedly in every Zoom session. I like using empty plastic containers to hold mini objects. Above is a picture of the types of empty containers I use to hide mini objects….round plastic gumball containers, eggs, latch boxes and toys with lids ( my 3 new purchases!)

Kerplunk

Play money

Two favorite reinforcements for my older students (and 1 preschooler who loved money) was Kerplunk and play money. I purchased this money set at the Dollar store and put in a photo box. When I had groups in the speech room students often chose Kerplunk or the play money.
