Hi All - I’m starting to do more in person services at my office in NY. How about you? Just got my first vaccine shot. My arm hurt for about 4 days but I got through it

MARCH FREEBIES!! - Here’s a Sample of Let’s Go Shopping Pronoun Activity and a revised Rules of Conversation Poster. Click on all images below for links.

Rules of Conversation - I just revised this poster - each student in the HS LD class had a copy. They brought their copy to group speech in the classroom. Initially we reviewed the rules at the beginning of each session and eventually I could ask students to name a rule of conversation without the poster and they did!

HERE ARE SOME GREAT NEW PRODUCTS JUST IN TIME FOR SPRING!

Humpty Dumpty BOOM Cards is a twisted rhyme with added parts to the story and has a positive ending! This rhyme is repetitive practice for medial T & D, as well as initial H, following directions and short phrases. I utilize the “semantic symbol” strategy for CVCV words (e.g. Hum+T) in this activity and in Where is my funny bunny. I am working with a little girl with CAS who was unable to produce final sounds no mater what I tried. When I switched to CVCV patterns I found she was able to combine patterns using the sounds she has. She is approximating so many CVCV words now and asks for Humpty in each session. She also loves 3 Little Kittens and knows the story by heart! I want to introduce Funny Bunny soon!

Here are 2 techie tips for you

  1. Have you ever heard of collectorz.com? It is an inventory app I have on my phone so I can organize all 88 books. I put in a reading date so now I can sort them by season. There are a variety of options for sorting. All of these books were in the CLC inventory, so I just had to click on the name and the picture appears! There are 1 or 2 books I had to take a picture of the front cover and add. Here’s a pic of books I screenshot on my phone from the CLZ program. I am thinking about which ones to use for Spring. FYI I heard about this from my husband who uses the Music inventory app from CLZ. It is a separate purchase.

2. Second tip is qualifying students for ESY. In NY we have to prove a preschool student will regress and that they need 8 weeks to regain a skill. This year I am using Google Forms. I created a youtube video last year about this and will be making a chart proving regression for the school district. SEE VIDEO BELOW.

Mushroom in the rain is a predictable audio book. Predictable means children learn the repetitive phrases and can eventually repeat the phrase. It has gifs too. It’s similar to The Mitten in which animals and insects fit under a mushroom. There are so many goals you can work on with this book companion. There is also a PowerPoint on TPT
