Palatal Blending for CH, J & SH
The strategies in this set really work! Sometimes, students struggle with producing fricative and affricative palatal sounds. I have tested this palatal sound-blending technique with students and have had success. First start with two words together slowly demonstrating when the final sound, e.g. T blends with Y . Then say it quickly blending the sounds together, and they magically become a palatal CH sound, e.g. eatchyou. My student loves using a light-up magic wand and a character to feed when we say the phrases together. Not every approach works for every student, so choose the right technique for your students. I like working on all three sounds at one time, but sometimes I need to pull back and start with one sound. Check stimulability first to find what works best with your student. There are twelve task cards per page, and both two-word and three-word phrases are on the same page."
